Hand Painted Pony Pebbles for Eggsy Pony

I've recently produced some new hand painted river pebbles for a special cause. I came across Eggsy pony on Twitter and was touched by his story. Eggsy was abandoned as a foal, with locking stifles, and was left to die. Luckily he was taken in and cared for by a very special owner. When horses and ponies are abandoned in the UK a notice goes up and after a period of time, if the animal isn't claimed by it's owner, it becomes the property of the person it's with, to keep or dispose of.

Eggsy is a very lucky pony he was rescued by a lady who commits to keeping animals and caring for them for their lifetime. Often horses can be moved on a lot, something which is unsettling for them and can give them an uncertain future, particularly if they have issues. This was the case with my own horse Star.

The lady who took Eggsy on has other rescue horses and wasn't sure financially how she could keep him, so his care is funded by donations to give him a secure future. I was very touched by Eggsy's story, I only have the finances and facilities to give Star a good home for life, so it's been nice to be able to paint a few things to help. All of the money from their sale will go towards funding Eggy's care.

I had a lot of fun painting this Piebald Cob pony, Exmoor pony, and thoroughbred horse in acrylics on these smooth river pebbles. I had so much fun, I've been working on some British native horses and ponies for the Folksy shop, so watch this space.
